Okay...why is it that when I try to sit at my desktop to actually work on something, it decides to leave a nice, warm, steaming pile at my feet that was, at one point, its guts?
Yep, that's the way it usually goes. I try to pull some creative crap out of my arse, and my computer craps out on power up. I didn't mind the virii (plural for virus), I didn't mind the fact that it was struggling with XP Pro with only 256MB in RAM, nor did I mind the fact that photoshop (and any relevant software for that matter...) would take about 15 minutes to start up.
What I did mind, was the fact that it took my computer, the 25 Lbs paperweight that it is, roughly 48 hours for a complete OS reinstall. That's right kiddies, you heard me. 48 drawn out hours. Does anyone have an idea what its like to go to sleep with the status bar at 13%, wake up to it reading 21%, leave for six to eight hours to go and try to make some money for food, only to return and see it hovering at a wonderful 39%? No? Let me paint a picture for you. (No dA pun intended.)
Its very fucking frustrating. Anyway, needless to say, I fixed the computer, and found out why it was running slower than a snail running from an escargot buffet.
Okay, bad joke, I know. Sue me.
As it turns out, my BIOS was outdated, and had set the CPU speed to 'compatible' instead of 'normal'. But I flashed, and it went blind and now it works again!
All I need now is my scanner disc, which I haven't seen in...16 months I think? *Shrugs.*
Besides the disc, I also need to hunt down some AAA sized batteries for my tablet pen. Once these two problems are resolved, it shouldn't take me long to add some colour to the first three Dimey comics.
Hrm...I wonder if Steve would let me borrow his paintball gun to hasten this to completion?
